Call for Papers for special "Renewable Energy" supplement of Energize magazine

After the successful first issue of Energize RE, the special Renewable Energy supplement Energize magazine in July 2013, EE Publishers is producing a second issue of Energize RE to be published in Feb 2014.
The second issue of Energize RE will focus on utility-scale renewable energy, and the successful bidders of the second and third first windows of the Department of Energy's Renewable Energy IPP programme.

The publication will therefore be a vital reference document for the electricity supply industry, and suppliers of products, systems and services to the emerging Renewable Energy sector in southern Africa.

This is a CALL FOR PAPERS for the second issue of Energize RE on Renewable Energy topics such as:
  • Basic listing of all successful REIPPP window 2 and 3 projects
  • Project infotorials of selected REIPPP window 2 and 3 projects
  • Progress on window 1, 2 and 3 projects - who is first on the grid
  • Financing - CDM, carbon credits - finance sources
  • Technology developments - PV, CSP, wind, inverters, etc.
  • Balance of plant for RE installations
  • Grid connection issues
  • Local manufacture and local content
  • Control, automation, communication, protection & monitoring
  • Maintenance of RE plant - techniques and contracting issues
  • Rooftop PV
  • Own generation - as a supplement / alternative to REIPP
  • Overview of existing rooftop PV projects
  • Progress with community and social upliftment projects


  • Papers of approximately 2000 to 3000 words should be submitted in editable MS Word format. Papers should be generic in nature, and should not have an overtly self-serving or commercial content. Preference is given to original papers or papers that have not been published in South Africa before.
