Go ahead for Darling wind farm

South African minister of environmental affairs and tourism, Marthinus van Schalkwyk, has turned down the only appeal against the proposed development of a commercial wind farm near Darling in the Western Cape
- apparently from a local resident on the grounds of the impact of wind farms on bird mortalities. The wind farm has been named a national demonstration project and initially will comprise four turbines with a capacity of 5.2 MW.
